London (14th October, 2004) – Manhattan Software today announced that the company would work with the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE) to develop interoperable data exchange standards in an effort to improve the flow of information throughout the Real Estate supply chain. Manhattan is the leading global corporate real estate, facility and asset management system utilised by many global companies and governments. These are two groups which have grown significantly in the last year, with many recognitions coming from industry professional organisations. Manhattan was recently listed as one of the top 500 Software Companies in the world (www.softwaremagazine.com), while OSCRE recently received the Realcomm Digie Award for the most innovative technology created for real estate transactions. Digie Awards are given to those firms and individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the real estate industry through the strategic use of technology and automation. “Manhattan Software is pleased to be able to now work more closely with CEO Andy Fuhrman and his prestigious leadership team in advancing the standardisation efforts around the world for the real estate and facilities industries”, says Nick Moore, President of Manhattan Software. “The OSCRE membership expands the standards work we have done with PISCES in Europe, as well as what we have been working on in Asia. Besides implementing a number of large, global Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) this year, Manhattan has embarked on an ambitious research program. We are focusing on each industry’s pain points and investigating how these problem areas can be positively impacted by the corporate real estate group. We are making sure companies can use our IWMS tools to drastically reduce occupancy costs while increasing the productivity of both in-house and outsourced service providers. The OSCRE standards work will greatly increase our efforts.” “We are very pleased to have Manhattan as a supporting member of OSCRE. In addition to their participation in standards development, movement of data in and out of Manhattan products will help further extend interoperability to other stakeholder operations and their respective technologies thereby reducing cost of operations and deployment speed for the Owner, Operator, and Investment community”, said OSCRE CEO Andy Fuhrman. OSCRE was created in 2003 and includes membership from corporations, federal agencies, service providers, real estate brokers, professional organisations, appraisers, as well as software vendors and suppliers.
